Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery stand in Walpole Park situated in the heart of Ealing. The Grade 1 historic house, designed by Sir John Soane as his dream home, together with West London's premier art gallery and the 28 acre landscape, provide a much loved focal point.
Soane's discovery was of the doctrine of architectural propriety by which a building conveys its purpose through its character
Ealing Council has gained round-one Heritage Lottery Funding to restore and redevelop Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery and has submitted an application to the HLF to hopefully gain the full amount required to carry out the full restoration and other works. The Manor is an architectural gem designed and lived in by renowned Georgian architect Sir John Soane. The Gallery is a well established arts forum which already attracts national and international interest.
